Preservation Resume’

Restoration Technologies was born out of a love for history. A love particularly of historic architecture, houses, barns, mills,
churches and the many other historic buildings and their amenities. Through these structures, we can learn a great deal about
our forefathers and their way of life. For this reason we are dedicated to the study, documentation and preservation of such
structures and related antique materials. After over 15 years in the preservation field we have completed numerous
Restoration/Preservation projects working with Individuals, Corporations, Non Profits and Governmental agencies. With this
experience comes the Knowledge to safely and successfully complete your project to the highest of standards.

Accomplishments:

Bodine Building
Historic restoration of the Bodine Building, 123 Main St, Flemington, NJ
A 10,000 sq. ft. mixed-use building, restored to its 1850’s appearance.
The restoration included extensive structural repairs. A large part of the exterior trim had to be restored and recreated due to
years of neglect and destructive renovations.

Mirubito Barn
Restoration of the Mirubito Barn, East Amwell Township
An 1830’s timber-frame barn restored to be reused as a barn.

Shotland Residence
Shotland Residence, Raritan Township
Historic restoration of kitchen wing of an 1810 stone house.

Grow Art Studio
Grow Art Studio, East Amwell Township
Conversion of an 1840’s barn to an art studio using recycled materials.  Received
preservation award for adaptive reuse in 2001 and was featured in New Jersey Countryside Magazine.


Flemington Fair grounds
Flemington Fairgrounds Announcer’s Gazebo Circa 1880
Dismantled, relocated and restored at the new fairgrounds in Ringoes, NJ.  

Blanch Hoffman Building
Dismantled and stored for reuse the 1870’s 20’ x 100’ timber-frame Blanch Hoffman Agricultural Building - awaiting a new
home.


Smithanna House
Establishment of an historic site on Case Rd. In Branchburg Township
Historically sensitive demolition of the Dutch-style Smithanna House. The stabilization of the foundation and fireplaces as
historic ruins. A historic marker was installed containing information on the houses history.
The project was performed for PSE&G upon completion it was then donated to Branchburg Township.  


Vannatta Farm
Structural stabilization of 40 x 80 timber frame bank barn circa 1810
Work included consulting on proper ways to stabilize the structure.
Stabilization work performed included structural bracing and the installation of steal tie rods.
Dismantling of collapsing wagon house roof system saving and tagging pertinent materials for future restoration.

1759 Vought House
Historic documentation of the 1759 Vought House, Clinton, NJ and discovery
of its one-of-a-kind ornamental plaster ceilings.
Performed mothballing of the structure that included stabilization of an extremely rare and sensitive ornamental plaster ceiling.
Contracted for the ongoing monitoring of the site by the school board.

Also responsible for saving the sites timber frame bank barn which was relocated within Hunterdon County.

Shick Barn
Circa 1840 English bank barn owned by Hunterdon County Park System
Work included structural repairs, sill replacement, siding repairs, new roofing, and new threshing floor doors.

1759 Vought House
Founding member of the 1759 Vought House non-profit group.  Responsible
for its 2008 placement on the New Jersey and National Registers and its eligibility to become a national historic site.  
Considered by some to be Hunterdon County’s most significant historic house.
